Bryanston High School is celebrating an exceptional set of matric results for the 2023 academic year, recording its highest-ever pass rate of 98.5%. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the institution, further solidifying its reputation for academic excellence within the affluent Sandton suburb.
The school saw a remarkable 85% of its matriculants qualify for bachelor's degree studies, an increase of 7% from the previous year. Furthermore, the number of distinctions achieved across various subjects also saw a substantial rise, with learners excelling particularly in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and English Home Language. These outstanding results are a testament to the rigorous academic programmes, dedicated teaching staff, and the hard work of the students.
Mrs. Jane van der Merwe, a long-time resident and parent of a matriculant, expressed her pride in the school's performance. "We've always known Bryanston High provides a strong foundation, but these results are truly phenomenal," she commented. "It's inspiring to see our local school empower so many young people to pursue higher education and build bright futures. The teachers go above and beyond, and it clearly pays off."
School principal, Mr. Mark Anderson, attributed the success to a combination of factors, including targeted intervention programmes, enhanced digital learning resources implemented over the past two years, and strong parental involvement. He also highlighted the school's commitment to holistic development, ensuring students are not only academically prepared but also well-rounded individuals ready for the challenges of tertiary education and beyond.
